Match Reports: Saturday 10th September

The first team travelled away to Hailey on Saturday and came away with another three points to keep them top of the Premier Division for a second week. Another solid performance saw them come away with a 5-3 win, with goals from Andrew Helby and a brace each for Mark Dennis and Seany Collins.

The reserves were at home again and this time welcomed Brize Norton to the Enstone Sport & Social Club. It was another very spirited performance with everyone putting in another shift (much like last week). The reserves took a 1-0 lead through a very cheeky Liam Busby free-kick. The ref asked if Liam wanted the wall to be 10 yards to which Buzzer replied no and asked if he could take it early. The ref said yes and Busby managed to pass the ball into the corner of the net, leaving the Brize players and goalkeeper furious. Rocky Burton managed to double Chippy's lead in the second half with a thunderous shot that left the Brize keeper with no chance.

Brize kept battling away and managed to get one back mid way through the second half. Stand-in manager for the day Dean Blake was then sent off from the sidelines after 'discussions' with the referee. Two minutes from time, Brize managed to get their equaliser and that's how it finished. Overall, the team can be pleased with another rallying performance but will be disappointed they weren't able to see out the game to pick up their first three points of the season. That said, lots of impressive performances and a promising showing from debutants Graham Benfield and Brad Smith when he came on will give the team continued belief going into their next game. The draw sees the reserves sitting in 6th place in Division Two.
